Music & Lyrics by Melanie Hart
From Melanie Hart's book, A New Thing: The Stories Behind the Music..."So there I was, with Bible open, on my knees, and supporting my elbows and folded hands at my bedside. I hadn’t opened my Bible to any particular place, but God had something very specific in mind for me that morning that would be eye-opening, spirit-lifting, and life-altering.
Through the tears that streamed down my face (as often happens when I pray – but that’s another song), my eyes strained to see the scriptures below. As I brushed the tears away, I read this wonderful passage. My eyes absorbed these verses as I read them over and over again and my mind rushed through all the reasons why they were for me, for Georgia, for everyone!"
Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Lord I have tried to forget my past
All of the wrong I have done.
You said to forget, don’t even consider
But I need to hear you again.
That I will do a new thing
And it will spring out of the ashes of your life.
And I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
Lord I want nothing, more than this
To follow your Hand, where You lead
So I’ll turn my mind’s eye
And give you life
To make it count for eternity!
Chorus
Do you not know?
Do you not know?
Do you not know, it is Me?
Chorus
